The Catalysing Growth Through Research for Transport Equipment Manufacturing SMEs (GTR) project is delivered through a partnership between the University of Derby’s Institute for Innovation in Sustainable Engineering (IISE) and The iNet @ Loughborough University (formerly Transport iNet). This project is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The project has recently issued a call for Collaborative R & D applications and now requires individuals/organisations to carry out assessments of these applications against a pre-determined scoring matrix. R&D projects may address any challenges pertinent to the TEM sector without restrictions. Projects may cover (but are not limited to) the following:
- Manufacturing processes (eg. additive manufacturing, digital manufacturing, nano-manufacturing, sensing, measurement, process control)
- Low carbon (eg. lightweighting, alternative fuels, recycling, energy saving)
- Materials (eg. composites, bio-composites)
- Intelligent Mobility (eg. autonomous vehicles, modelling, visualisation, human-machine interaction, tracking)
- Infrastructure (eg. roads, lighting, railways, signalling, airports)
- Safety (eg. crashworthiness, risk management)
- Security (eg. cyber, passenger, cargo)
- Systems
- Application of other emerging/enabling technologies (eg big data, satellite data)
Should you be interested in providing your services, and feel you have the relevant expertise; please forward your contact details and area/s of specialism to Georgette Hall, .
If you would like to discuss further then please do call Georgette on .
The budget is £250 per assessment, in keeping with previous assessments of these types of applications.
